PI Ceramic Uses New Spray Drying Tower for Material Preparation

The video offers a glimpse into the new spray drying tower at PI ceramic. The granulate happens to be the basic material for the piezo components made by pressing technology. Therefore,  producing a compressible granulate is a crucial step in material preparation. PI Ceramic is now operating a new spray drying tower to produce this granulate in an even superior quality and at larger quantities.

The volume of this spay drying tower is considerably larger when compared to the previous spray drying installation. Owing to this fact, the evaporation performance is increased and during spray drying the material throughput is 3 to 4 times higher. The spray drying process reaches a capacity of about 1000 kg/day. Moreover, the flowability of the granulate is increased significantly, which in turn simplifies the additional processing to pressing compacts.
