Q-Motion® - PI’s High-Resolution Positioning Systems

This video shows Q-Motion® high-resolution positioning systems that are very small and versatile. The functional principle of the piezoelectric inertia drive enables easy configuration of the control and the actuators. This facilitates attaining long travel ranges or rotary motion, and separate axes can be easily integrated with each other.

The Q-Motion® is affordable with nanometer precision (encoder resolution to 1 nm). A high operating frequency up to 20 kHz results in a continuous motion. A full stick cycle produces a feed of some 100 nm. The Q-Motion® with its small dimensions offers linear and rotary axes and a stackable stage design.
