This video shows the real time FRET-based detection of mechanical stress in a cytoskeletal protein using an Andor iXon EMCCD camera.
DNA springs were used to assess the stress sensitivity of the FRET probes in the solution, intrinsic stress in collagen and internal stresses in proteins including spectrin, actin, and filamin.
