Avantier's Ritchey-Chrétien telescopes are made with silicon carbide and aluminum, and are the latest high-performance model. The systems are athermal and lightweight, and provide stable imaging quality while minimizing launch cost and mass. The systems can be employed for scientific instrumentation, space-grade optical systems, and mission-critical imaging applications.
Avantier also offers customized solutions, tailored to customers' requests.

Ritchey-Chrétien Telescopes
The RC telescope is an advanced reflecting telescope within the Cassegrain optical system, designed with hyperbolic primary and secondary mirrors. As its design helps to minimize optical errors such as coma and spherical aberration, the system is widely employed in aerospace optical systems, astronomical observatories, and advanced imaging platforms.
The Ritchey-Chrétien optical design provides a wider field of view and improves off-axis image quality. However, the system does not completely remove astigmatism and field curvature.
The systems have already been demonstrated on the Hubble Space Telescope and are thus ideal for astronomical observations. Ritchey-Chrétien telescopes can be difficult to produce, however, owing to the complex process and the high cost involved when compared to other designs. This is because RC telescopes require high precision to align the optical axes of the primary and secondary mirrors, and the manufacturing process for hyperbolic mirrors is also complex.
Despite these constraints, the ability of these mirrors to maintain image quality across different focal lengths and to remove chromatic aberration makes them a preferred option for applications requiring high image quality over a wide field of view, such as RC telescopes.
