Jupiter Systems Announces Partnership to Integrate its Display Wall Controllers with Samsung Narrow-Bezel LCDs

Jupiter Systems, the industry leader in display wall technology, today announced an exclusive partnership with Winhi Technology, the sole distributor of Samsung Electronics Corporation surveillance products in China. Under the partnership agreement Jupiter’s high performance controllers will be bundled with Samsung’s narrow-bezel LCDs (liquid crystal display) for sale in everything from small 2 x 2 display walls used by local enterprise to very large installations (as large as 100 cubes or LCD displays), such as those found in airports, traffic control, power plants or security operations.

Assets of Advent Solar Acquired by Applied Materials

Applied Materials, Inc., the leading supplier of equipment and services to the solar photovoltaic (PV) industry, announced today that it has acquired substantially all the assets, including the intellectual property, of Advent Solar, Inc. for an undisclosed cash amount. Advent Solar is a developer of advanced technology for crystalline silicon (c-Si) PVs. This acquisition is expected to complement Applied’s portfolio of solar PV technologies and enhance its leadership in the c-Si equipment market.

LEID to Install Biometric Access Control System at National Institutes of Health in Maryland

Auburn Hills, MI-based Law Enforcement Intelligent Devices, LLC (LEID) will be installing its locker system and patent-pending Biometric Access Control System(TM) (BACS) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' National Institutes of Health (NIH) based in Bethesda, MD. Discovery Semiconductors Announces Highly Linear Photodiodes DSC100S for RF-over-Fiber Applications

Discovery Semiconductors, Inc. has introduced its Highly Linear Photodiodes DSC100S for RF-over-Fiber applications covering a frequency range of DC - 6 GHz. These photodiodes have a nominal third-order output intercept point (OIP3) of >45 dBm and second order output intercept point (OIP2) of >55 dBm for DC photocurrents in excess of 30 mA. The development effort for these photodiodes was partially funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). These photodiodes can work at both 1310 nm as well as 1550 nm wavelengths.
