DALSA Launches New Falcon High Performance Camera Models

DALSA Corporation [TSX: DSA], a global leader in machine vision technology, today announced three new models in its Falcon high performance camera family, headlined by a new high sensitivity VGA camera delivering 300 frames per second.

The Falcon VGA300 HG, 1M120 HG, and 1.4M100 HG feature high quality DALSA CMOS image sensors and are ideal for electronics inspection, semiconductor inspection, industrial metrology (gauging) and other machine vision applications. The new Falcon cameras will be introduced here at VISION 2009 in Stuttgart, Germany at the DALSA stand in Hall 4, Booth D 53.

DALSA's Falcon series of cameras includes resolutions from VGA to 4 megapixels with frame rates up to 300 fps and models optmized for high sensitivity or high dynamic range

Mark Butler, Product Manager at DALSA says, “DALSA’s Falcon HG camera series meets the needs of the machine vision industry by providing excellent responsivity and very fast frame rates, as seen in our Falcon VGA300 product.”

As the name suggests, the 1M120 HG offers 1 megapixel resolution with 120 fps, while the 1.4M100 HG delivers 1.4 megapixel resolution with 100 fps. In addition to the HG models optimized for high sensitivity, DALSA also offers the Falcon 1.4M100 XDR, a 1.4 megapixel camera delivering 100 fps and optimized for high dynamic range. Not only do these new Falcons feature CMOS technology for lower power consumption, all four support Power over Camera Link (PoCL), removing the need for a separate power cable and reducing system cost and cabling complexity.

Fully programmable, these cameras incorporate exposure control, gain and offset adjustment, and flat-field correction to optimize system performance. They back up their superb imaging performance with robust, compact 44 x 44 x 44 mm housings and convenient mounting options.

Evaluation units of these cameras are available now, with volume quantities available by the end of the year. To contact your local distributor for more information, visit the "where to buy" page on our website.
