New LED Wall Scoring System from Daktronics

Earlier this year, the NBA Development League approved a new expansion franchise for Portland, Maine.

The Maine Red Claws will open their first season with a new light emitting diode (LED) integrated end wall scoring system designed, manufactured and installed by Daktronics Inc. (Nasdaq-DAKT) of Brookings, S.D.

Scheduled to be installed at the Portland Expo Building the second week of November, the new system will include an LED video display with a 10mm pixel pitch measuring approximately five feet high by nine feet wide. The indoor display will feature live video, instant replays and dazzling graphics, animations and advertisements during games.

“We are excited to have the scoreboard installed in the Expo later this month,” said Red Claws President and General Manager Jon Jennings. “Along with the brand-new parquet floor, the scoreboard will transform the Portland Expo and make it an even more exciting place to watch a game. We expect a packed house and a raucous crowd at Red Claws games, and the scoreboard is only going to add to the excitement.”

Two basketball scoreboards and stats displays will join the video display, giving fans the information they need to keep up with the games. Shot clocks and LED locker room timers will also be part of the integrated Daktronics system installed at the Expo Building.

Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with minimal maintenance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
