Gale Force Laser Engravers Can Now Be Integrated with X-Rite i1 Spectrophotometer

Manufacturer of laser engraving systems, New Age Imagers announced that its Gale Force Laser Engravers now can integrate the X-Rite i1 Spectrophotometer. This integration creates calibration curves to easily and precisely make four-color process pad printing plates. The X-Rite i1 minimizes make-ready time and spoilage, and it automatically gathers halftone features from output images.

1000 Series RIP Driven Laser Engravers

The combination of the laser engraver and the capabilities of i1 simplifies pad printing for ultra-high resolution images and four-color process. This is the first instance in the industry to utilize a spectrophotometer for the measurement of pad printed halftone dots.

The printed halftone dots are examined using software, which generates calibration curves automatically in the Raster Image Processor (RIP). The curves help to compensate for variables, including substrates, inks, and pads. The company’s Gale Force Laser Engraver acknowledges to the calibration curves and accurately fine-tunes halftone values, for natural color and optimum image reproduction.

New Age Imagers’ Jeff Kohnke stated that they are pleased to provide pad printers high level of accuracy and a better control for the CTP workflow.
