CEVA, iOnRoad Partner to Offer Camera-Enabled Driving Assistance Devices

CEVA, Inc., the leading licensor of silicon intellectual property (SIP) platform solutions and DSP cores, today announced it is partnering with iOnRoad, an award-winning technology provider for personal driving assistance. The two companies have integrated and optimized the iOnRoad software for use with the CEVA-MM3101 imaging and vision platform for camera-enabled devices. The companies will demonstrate the technology at CES 2013 in Las Vegas from January 8-11th, 2013.

NASA's Dawn Space Probe Camera Reveals Enormous Craters in Protoplanet Vesta’s

The protoplanet Vesta has been witness to an eventful past: images taken by the framing camera onboard NASA's space probe Dawn show two enormous craters in the southern hemisphere. The images were obtained during Dawn's year-long visit to Vesta that ended in September 2012. These huge impacts not only altered Vesta's shape, but also its surface composition.

NASA’s Swift UVOT Telescope Delivers Images Blocked by Earth’s Atmosphere

A large new collection of space photos taken at wavelengths that are invisible to the human eye and blocked by Earth's atmosphere has been released as a New Year's gift to the people of Earth by NASA and Penn State University. The images were captured by a telescope on board NASA's Swift satellite, whose science and flight operations are controlled by Penn State from the Mission Operations Center in State College, Pa., using the Ultraviolet/Optical Telescope, which resulted from Penn State's collaboration with the Mullard Space Science Laboratory of the University College-London. The telescope is one of just a few that study ultraviolet light, much of which is blocked by the atmosphere surrounding Earth

II-VI Incorporated announced today that it has acquired all of the outstanding shares of LightWorks Optics, Inc. (LightWorks). The initial consideration consisted of cash of approximately $31 million. In addition, the agreement provides for approximately $4 million of cash earn-out opportunities based upon LightWorks achieving certain future financial targets and is subject to customary closing adjustments including a working capital adjustment.
