Pritam Roy is a science writer based in Guwahati, India. He has his B. E in Electrical Engineering from Assam Engineering College, Guwahati, and his M. Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from IIT Guwahati, with a specialization in RF & Photonics.

Pritam’s master's research project was based on wireless power transfer (WPT) over the far field. The research project included simulations and fabrications of RF rectifiers for transferring power wirelessly.

While pursuing his M. Tech, he was also a teaching assistant for undergraduate students at IIT Guwahati. He enjoyed teaching introductory electrical engineering courses to the first-year students at IIT Guwahati. Apart from his extensive experience in working as a content/scientific writer, he also has experience in writing and developing storyboards for various electrical simulations related to HVAC.

Pritam likes to write about new and evolving technologies in the field of engineering. He was constantly involved in reviewing many technical articles for various scientific websites. Along with his work, Pritam started editing and proofreading technical articles during his postgraduate and has been a freelance technical writer since then. While pursuing his postgraduate at IIT Guwahati, Pritam was the General Secretary of the IEEE Student Branch. As a part of the responsibilities of his position, Pritam was constantly occupied with proofreading technical journals that were to be published in the field of Electrical Engineering.

Pritam is a passionate painter. Whenever he is not engaged in his work, he loves to paint. Other than painting, he also enjoys playing games such as cricket, football, and table tennis, amongst others. He is always curious and eager to learn new things and is passionate about keeping up-to-date with scientific, engineering, and information technology developments.
