IDS Imaging Development Systems is a leading manufacturer of digital industrial uEye cameras with USB or GigE interface as well as Ensenso 3D cameras with a wide range of variants. With the highly flexible, intelligent IDS NXT industrial cameras for deep learning-based tasks and adaptive robot vision solutions, the company is opening up new dimensions in image processing.
IDS was founded in 1997 and is an owner-managed, independent family business with more than 330 employees. The headquarters are in Obersulm, Germany, with branches and representative offices in the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, USA, South Korea and Japan. IDS cameras offer an almost unlimited range of applications and are used in mechanical and plant engineering, in the automotive, packaging and printing industries as well as in the food sector. The combination of quality “Made in Germany”, long-term availability and exceptional ease of use makes the products unique. Faithful to its philosophy “It's so easy!”, IDS develops and produces products with the aim to provide the best user experience in the vision market.
An important part of the IDS product portfolio are customized cameras providing the common high quality, excellent functionality, and ease of use, IDS products are known for. Tried and tested standard products are consequently modified as long as they meet the customers´ requirements: From slight design changes to OEM solutions, through to special hardware and software alterations, everything is possible to develop the optimum solution for specific applications and demands.
Support and Services
A third of the employees work in hardware and software development and in application engineering. Assisted by a skilled sales team, they provide service and support, both before and after-sales. Customers benefit from the company’s many years of experience and extensive internal development and design resources, as well as from the expert knowledge of an experienced application and engineering team. The services include feasibility studies, practical assistance with system integration, and general or application-specific training. Extremely simple handling, high quality, long-term availability, and all-round service underpin the success of IDS products.

Dr. Keith Paulsen
AZoOptics speaks to Dr. Keith Paulsen about the importance of breast cancer detection and the introduction of his team's deep-learning algorithm that associates spatial images of tissue optical properties with optical signal patterns measured during an imaging experiment or patient exam.
Prof. Simon Scheuring & Dr. Alma P. Perrino
AZoOptics speaks to Prof. Simon Scheuring & Dr. Alma P. Perrino about their recent research using a new line-scanning high-speed atomic force microscopy technique. The method helps characterize the single-molecule kinetics of wild-type bR (bR-WT) exposed to continuous light and short light pulses.
R. Bruce Weisman
AZoOptics interviews R. Bruce Weisman from Rice University in Texas, US, who has discovered fluorescence from silicon nanoparticles in cement and how it can be used to reveal early signs of damage in concrete structures.
