LG to Illustrate Digital Signage Applications at Digital Signage Expo 2010

Highlighting anti-reflective surfaces, video wall applications and more, LG Electronics illustrates how simple it is to incorporate LG's digital signage solutions into any environment this week at Digital Signage Expo 2010 (Booth #1205).

Starting with a new solid state media player, the NC-1000 expands LG's digital signage offerings by introducing a hardware solution that is designed to easily display a wide variety of content including images, movies, audio and other file types – all in full HD. The NC-1000 media player comes in a small format footprint and is capable of driving any LG commercial display. Built on a solid-state, open-architecture platform, the NC-1000 is also compatible with many popular software providers' applications.

For high ambient light environments, LG's "Shine Out" displays take sunlight and use it as an additional light source to actually increase the effective brightness of the display. With an Anti-Reflection Surface Treatment, "wash out" is minimized, resulting in content that is more easily viewable.

Using four 60-inch class plasmas in a 2 x 2 matrix, LG has created a virtually seamless 120-inch HD display that produces stunning image quality. The display is versatile enough for a hospitality setting, shopping mall, exhibit, or public transportation venue for information sharing, advertising or broadcasting the latest sports game and displays in full 1080p.

For integrators looking for more energy efficient digital signage monitors, LG now has five new models that earn ENERGY STAR® 5.0 certification without a sacrifice in picture quality or design.

"The need for compelling digital signage solutions across a variety of applications is vast," said Jeff Dowell, vice president, Digital Signage, LG Electronics USA Business Solutions. "LG's monitors and media players bring simplicity back into the equation by adding value beyond just the display itself. This makes it easier than ever before to implement digital signage in any vertical market for a multi-dimensional and engaging approach to information sharing."

Large Monitors For the Masses

Understanding the varying and demanding needs of digital out-of-home advertising, LG's latest large and medium sized monitors bring durability, energy efficiency and high-definition. LG's virtually seamless 120-inch plasma screen boasts a 4mm seam size so viewers can see more of the images. With a highly efficient panel, image sticking is minimized and response time optimized for a crisp, clear picture. A 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, Full HD resolution and a brightness level of 1,500 cd/m2 provides viewers with a more detail-rich content viewing experience.

The 65-inch class Full HD 1080p monitor (model M6503CCBA) incorporates a crisp resolution with high contrast ratio and brightness for a truly beautiful picture on the big screen. Three power saving levels allow for the integrator to customize energy output. From bus terminals to hotel registration desks, this monitor makes information sharing easier than ever with the ability to place it in a 5 x 5 video wall matrix that automatically adjusts itself for bezel width to help provide a more seamless picture.

LG's 47-inch class monitor (model M4715CCBA) has high brightness and contrast ratios and can be placed in portrait and landscape modes. This model boasts ENERGY STAR ® 5.0 ratings for certified energy saving properties. A new feature this year, this model also comes with RJ-45 LAN control which enhances network connectivity.

For way-finding applications and interactivity, LG's 47-inch class Touch Screen (model M4714T-BA) incorporates new Full HD native display resolution and a three millisecond, accurate touch response. A Super IPS Viewing Angle of 178 degrees allows content to be viewable at almost any angle. The narrow bezel – just 36 mm – allows for the focus to remain on the content instead of the television framing.

Mid-sized Monitors

Not all digital signage installations require a big-screen display. For smaller installations LG has a broad line of monitors from 32 – to 42-inch class sizes. LG's 42-inch class M4224C-BA brings an improved, ultra thin narrow bezel of just .67-inches for installation in almost any environment. A Full HD resolution on this model and an improved high brightness level of  700 cd/m2 pack a solid punch for crisp, clear picture quality.

With LAN control, this M4224C-BA connects easily to any network for enhanced operability. Another 42-inch class size model, the M4213CCBA boasts split zoom capabilities and a Super IPS viewing angle of 178 degrees.

For smaller installations LG's 32-inch and 37-inch class models (Models M3203CCBA and M3703CCBA) bring solid picture quality, and video wall capabilities up to 5 x 5. These models also come with new RJ-45 LAN Control for network connectivity and control of content. A solid contrast ratio of 3,000:1, and high brightness level of 500 cd/m2 bring crispness and clarity to content on the small screen to help ensure no detail is missed.

For those commercial environments looking to save on energy, the above Mid-sized monitors boast ENERGY STAR 5.0 certification.

Projectors

For digital signage applications on-the-go, or for those in-store applications with customized content, LG's projectors – HX300G and HS200 make it simple. Weighing less than two pounds, LG's HX300G Ultra Mobile LED Projector has advanced illumination, providing an easy-to-use content display option with an LED light source that lasts longer than standard projectors.

While standard projectors deliver between 3,000 and 4,000 hours of worry-free performance before the lamp reaches the end of its life, the HX300G extends that expected lamp life up to an incredible 30,000 hours (typical). Not only is this feature expected to help the environment by eliminating the need for replacement lamps, the HX300G also includes lamps that are mercury free. The intelligent features of the HX300G allow the integrator or business owner to create a truly personalized presentation experience in any commercial environment by integrating and playing DivX, MP3 and jpeg files with an easy to use USB interface.

The HX300G is the perfect blend of high performance and maximum portability delivering superior brightness for a projector its size, meaning the quality of any presentation will instantly be improved.

LG's HS200 with light emitting diode (LED) brings enhanced portability to projectors and redefines durability with its exceedingly long lasting lamp life. With 200 ANSI-lumens, the HS200 provides a bright picture with vibrant color. This color is managed by a newly designed LED lamp, producing high clarity. Businesses have multiple options for use as the HS200 can be mounted on the ceiling, on a tripod or set on any solid surface and pointed at the screen. Its USB 2.0, RGB-In and A/V in and out ports are easily accessible, making setup simple.
