The SR e series and SR x series are the latest additions to Luxinar’s well-established SR series of CO2 laser sources.

The SR e 9.3 µm series targets the electronics industry, where high peak power and low HAZ are required. The SR e series is ideal for processing polarising film, removing excess bonding agent, and laser texturing; applications that need perfect edge quality and minimum disruption of the surrounding area. The SR 10e, with up to 115 W average output power and 330 W peak output power and the SR 15e, with up to 160 W average output power and 460 W peak output power, offer fast processing capabilities and high-quality results.

The SR x 9.3 µm series is a higher average power version of the SR i series and is ideal for high-speed applications. The range consists of SR 10x, with up to 105 W average output power and 235 W peak output power, SR 15x, with up to 150 W average output power and 335 W peak output power and the SR 25x, with up to 210 W average output power and 465 W peak output power.

As with the rest of the SR series, the SR e and x series have a rating of IP66; this means they are ideal for the harshest industrial environments to ensure high protection against water and dust ingress. The output beam is in the same place on all the SR series, allowing power upgrades with minimal design changes; and an integrated RF power supply that is replaceable in the field reduces production downtime.  The simple control interface and compact mechanical design of the units allow easy integration into laser-based processing machines used for cutting, marking, perforating, and drilling, among others.

The SR AOM series, with powers up to 150 W, is designed to address a wide range of high-precision applications that require a reduced heat-affected zone, such as multilayer thin film cutting for the display market and high resolution/speed marking. A CO2 laser with an integrated acousto-optic modulator, the SR AOM creates optical rise and fall times of less than 1µs to minimise unnecessary heat energy from typical pulse rise/fall times of approximately 60 µs.

John Podwojski, Regional General Manager of Luxinar’s USA office explains: “We are excited to be exhibiting for the first time at ATX East. It means we can easily present our range of CO2 lasers for the automation industry and the benefits of working with a company that has 25 years of experience in laser technology.”
