temple, a leading global distribution company that provides connectivity expertise and solutions to the data and telecommunications sectors, has agreed to become an authorized distributor of Tellabs' Optical LAN solutions. The agreement expands distribution of Tellabs' Optical LAN into the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) markets.

temple will handle Optical LAN distribution for businesses, government agencies and other organizations. temple will build on its relationships with value-added resellers, system integrators and other supply chain partners to sell, deploy and maintain Optical LAN for EMEA customers.

Tellabs' industry-leading Optical LAN is a high-tech replacement for conventional copper-based Ethernet LANs. It saves businesses up to 70% in the cost of ownership, lowers energy consumption by up to 80%, and reduces space needs by up to 90%. Already, we are seeing change in the market and are very excited to work with Tellabs in this region."
