Vector Provides Fiber-Based Broadband Package to Auckland Schools

Vector, an energy and fiber company in New Zealand, has developed a new fiber-based broadband package for educational institutions and schools.

The EduNet package includes a set of access and content services provided in partnership with data centres, universities, and libraries in Auckland, and also in collaboration with eCast, a company specializing in video streaming services.

EduNet’s services offer access to on-demand services and online educational resources at up to 100 Mbps network speeds. The maximum data transmission speed of EduNet is 50 Mbps, while the transmission speed of educational content is 100 Mbps. In addition, the data transmission of the alliance between EduNet schools is 1 Gbps.

Vector has already contracted three schools for the new fiber service. Furthermore, the company is in discussions with over 100 schools across other areas of Auckland and also with schools located on the North Shore Education Access Loop (NEAL). The EduNet is expected to surpass the NEAL network built by the company.
