Elbit Systems to Supply Thermal Imaging Systems for Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance

Elbit Systems Ltd. announced that its subsidiary, Elbit Systems Electro-Optics Elop Ltd. (Elop) has been recently awarded three contracts valued in a total amount of approximately $87 million from a customer in Asia for the supply of cooled Thermal Imaging systems for reconnaissance and target acquisition applications.

Canon Developed its Own Liquid Crystal on Silicon Reflective LCD Panels

Canon Inc. today announced that the Company has developed its own LCOS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) reflective LCD panels, a key device used in multimedia projectors. At this year's InfoComm 08' trade show being held on June 18-20 in Las Vegas (Las Vegas Convention Center), this technology will be showcased (Booth #C1529).

BAE to Provide Thermal Imaging Modules for Contract with U.S. Army's Remotely Weapon System

BAE Systems has received a $60 million order to provide thermal imaging modules to Kongsberg Defense + Aerospace AS for its contract with the U.S. Army's Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station (CROWS) II program awarded in August 2007.

Physicists Developed New Near-Infrared Broadband Laser Materials

A team of physicists in the Institute for Ultrafast Spectroscopy and Lasers (IUSL) of the Physics Department at The City College of New York (CCNY) have developed new near-infrared broadband laser materials with tunability ranges around triple those of earlier crystals.
