Oclaro Commences Volume Production of Dual-Rate 100G CFP2 LR4 Transceiver

Oclaro, Inc., a leading provider and innovator of optical communications solutions, today announced that the dual-rate 100G CFP2 LR4 transceiver, which is fully-interoperable with the 100G CFP LR4 transceiver supporting both OTU-4 and 100GbE interfaces, has joined that module in volume production. II-VI Acquires Oclaro’s Gallium Arsenide Laser Diode Business in Switzerland

Alcatel-Lucent and SaskTel Conduct 400G Optical Transport Trial on 10G Network

Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris) and SaskTel, the full service communications provider in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, have announced the successful trial of fiber-optic data transmission that could enable the delivery of data at speeds of up to 400G (gigabytes-per second) over a network originally built for 10G traffic.
