Broad Band Multi-Layer AR Coatings for Visible and IR Sensors Applications

Magnolia Optical Technologies, Inc. announced today that in collaboration with the Army Research Laboratory in Adelphi, MD it has developed broad band multi-layer AR coatings that can be used for visible and IR sensors applications including enhancing solar cell performance. This work was partially funded by an MDA/Army funded SBIR Program.

World’s First Full Color Active Matrix LCD Made with Carbon Nanotubes

Unidym, Inc, a majority-owned subsidiary of Arrowhead Research Corporation, announced today the world's first full color active matrix LCD made with carbon nanotube (CNT) components. This engineering prototype is currently being demonstrated in Unidym's booth (#504) at the Society for Information Display (SID) International Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The World's First Carbon Nanotube-Based Active Matrix Electrophoretic Display

Unidym, Inc, a majority-owned subsidiary of Arrowhead Research Corporation, announced today that Samsung Electronics is demonstrating the world's first carbon nanotube-based active matrix electrophoretic display (EPD) e-paper in its booth at the Society for Information Display (SID) International Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition at the Los Angeles Convention Center from May 18th through May 23rd.

Quest for the Ideal Photonic Crystal

Researchers have been unable to build an ideal "photonic crystal" to manipulate visible light, impeding the dream of ultrafast optical computers. But now, University of Utah chemists have discovered that nature already has designed photonic crystals with the ideal, diamond-like structure: They are found in the shimmering, iridescent green scales of a beetle from Brazil.

BAE to Provide Thermal Imaging Modules for Contract with U.S. Army's Remotely Weapon System
