AFOP Releases New, Improved SFP VOA for Optical Networking Systems

AFOP’s improved SFP (Small Form Factor Pluggable) VOA integrates an electrically controlled VOA into a standard SFP module.

Small Form Factor VOA

The SFP VOA incorporates our iC'VOA technology which offers high optical performance and low cost. Convenient electronic attenuation control is achieved using the industry standard I2C interface.

Applications include power equalization in multi channel optically amplified networks, gain tilt, and optical power control in reconfigurable networks. It has low excess loss and covers the complete fiber optical communication wavelength range. Customized electronic interfaces and layout are available upon request.
