BTI Named Third Fastest-Growing Company in Canada in 2007

BTI Photonic Systems, a global supplier of Agile Optical Edge microWDM networking solutions for the delivery of gigabit services, today announced that it has been named the third fastest-growing company in Canada in the 2007 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 - a ranking of the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in Canada, based on the percentage of revenue growth over five years. This is BTI's second consecutive year to be included.

"It is an honour for BTI to be recognized among such innovative companies and to have increased our ranking to the third position," said Lance Laking, President and CEO, BTI Photonic Systems. "We remain focused on our core competency of providing Agile Optical Edge networking solutions that allow our customers to meet the demands of delivering high-bandwidth applications such as IPTV and mobile Internet."

Over the last decade, the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 program has tracked the successful growth of Canadian-grown global leaders such as Research in Motion (RIM), which has ranked among the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 every year since the program's inception in 1997. Now Canada's pre-eminent technology award program, the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 augments the broader Deloitte North American Technology Fast 500 initiative, with winners automatically eligible for this elite ranking.

"Canadian technology companies have some of the highest revenue growth in North America, while playing in some of the worlds largest, most competitive and exciting market sectors," said John Ruffolo, National Leader, Technology, Media & Telecommunications Industry Group, Deloitte. "Outstanding companies such as BTI Photonic Systems demonstrate the incredible business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit that fuel the Canadian technology industry."
