After numerous rave reviews for its video and audio performance, this player has become the industry reference for performance in its price class. With HDMI 1.3 output and up to 36-bit Deep Color support, the BDP-83 can scale all sources to any standard resolution up to 1080p, at either 50 or 60 Hz, as well as 1080p-24 playback of Blu-ray discs. The BDP-83 produces a true-to-life picture free of artifacts with Anchor Bay's VRS technologies including Precision Deinterlacing(TM), Precision Video Scaling(TM), Progressive Cadence Detection(TM), MPEG noise reduction and picture enhancement.

"The ABT2010 chip was an easy choice to power the video performance of our new Blu-ray player," said Jason Liao, vice-president of product development at OPPO Digital. "We use the ABT2010 in our DV-983H upscaling DVD player, where it performs superbly. With the chip's highly competitive cost and Anchor Bay's engineering staff facilitating its integration into the new player, we were able to hit our budget and make the BDP-83 extremely affordable while getting today's best performance."

"We are very pleased to continue our working relationship with OPPO Digital," said Doug Fealtman, CEO at Anchor Bay. Our team was excited about the opportunity to incorporate our VRS technologies into OPPO's first Blu-ray player, and the player's extraordinary reception by reviewers and end users is validation of both Anchor Bay and OPPO's ability to deliver extraordinary audio and video performance at a price level well below the competition."
