IRphotonics Launches 2-5 um mid Infrared Fiber Targeting Defense and Aerospace Applications

IRphotonics, a leading provider of advanced infrared fiber and materials announced today the availability of its new II-VTM mid infrared fiber targeting Defense and Aerospace applications. The II-VTM mid-IR fiber offers a spectral transmission from 0.4 to 5.5 um with low attenuation and no spectral absorption peak.

"The high optical quality of the II-VTM infrared fiber and smooth spectral response in the 2-5 um spectral range will enable performance enhancements and new applications not possible before", commented Ruben Burga, VP Sales for IRphotonics. "The II-VTM is ideally suited for lower-cost, lightweight infrared countermeasure (IRCM) systems."

The II-VTM Mid-IR Fiber offers:

  • Fiber core diameter from 100 um to 200 um (other diameters available on demand)
  • Operating temperature: -20°C to 150°C
  • Numerical aperture: 0.10 to 0.25 (standard NA: 0.2)
