Stainless Steel Ribbon Cable Assemblies Provide High-Density Interconnect Solutions for Harsh Environment Applications

Timbercon, Inc., the fiber optic product and solution manufacturing company providing a vast array of connectivity solutions, today introduced the Stainless Steel Ribbon Fiber Cable product line, designed to provide customers with a high-density, multi-fiber cabling solution for harsh environment applications.

The Stainless Steel Ribbon Fiber Cable incorporates the functionality of an MT (MTP® and MPO) cable with the durability of a ruggedized harsh environment product. Constructed of crush, abrasion, and chemically resistant stainless steel jacketing and MT ribbon fiber connectors, these assemblies are suitable for a multitude of applications from machinery interconnects to military and industrial applications.

The new product line is an expansion of Timbercon's Ribbon Fiber Assembly product line, providing clients with a single source for both harsh environment and traditional product applications.

"We've seen a substantial increase in demand for a high-density, multi-fiber product that will perform and maintain structural integrity in less than ideal conditions," said Sean Gitt, Director of Marketing for Timbercon. "This product line provides a new solution for space constrained and harsh environment applications where traditional fiber cable assemblies are just not rugged or compact enough to be a viable option."

The Timbercon Ruggedized Stainless Steel Ribbon Fiber Cables are available with 4 to 24 fibers in standard (MT to MT), breakout (MT to SC, ST, LC, SC), and custom configurations to suit a myriad of applications.
