Zecotek Photonics Inc. today announced it has signed broad ranging distribution agreements with T.E.M. Incorporated ("T.E.M."), a leading Japanese distributor of laser and electro-optical products. The agreements cover the distribution of Zecotek's fiber and solid state lasers, MAPD photo detectors, RFO vanadate crystals and patented LFS Scintillation material in Japan.

With the recent agreement with Fujikura, Japan became a priority market for Zecotek, in par with North America for both industrial and research applications. The size of the Japanese optoelectronics industry in 2007 was estimated to be C$75 billion (source: Japan Optoelectronic Industry and Technology Development Association) not including industrial micro-machining applications for Zecotek's fiber lasers which are designed to replace currently used gas and ion lasers. T.E.M. will work within Zecotek's existing manufacturing agreement with Fujikura.
T.E.M. brings a wealth of experience in the Japanese fiber laser market and was instrumental in the introduction and market development of emerging companies such as IPG Photonics (NASDAQ: IPGP). Under the laser distribution agreement with Zecotek, T.E.M. has commitments to pre-purchase products including its Green Fiber Lasers for immediate marketing to its major OEM customers. The distribution agreements were signed by Zecotek Laser Systems Pte. Ltd. and Zecotek Imaging Systems Pte. Ltd.
