This acknowledgement is awarded by the imaging and machine vision magazine inspect from the publishing house Wiley on a yearly basis. After selecting the most innovative products amongst the applications, readers have to choose between the shortlisted products and select the product they find most trend-setting and treasure most. This year Edmund Optics applied with their new TECHSPEC® LT Series Fixed Focal Length Lenses, featuring a high-resolution f/2.8 optical design with an integrated Optotune liquid lens for fast electronic focus and won the inspect award in bronze in the category vision.

Using liquid lenses in combination with large sensors was not possible, as their small size leads to vignetting, preventing the light from reaching the corners of the sensor. We are aiming to bring the technology a good step forward by serving the market with a lens fulfilling the current gap.”
This innovative product convinced the readers with up to 12 MegaPixels and 3,45 µm pixel size. The C-Mount lenses are optimized for 1,1” sensors and have front filter threading to integrate imaging filters to meet application requirements. TECHSPEC® LT Series Fixed Focal Length Lenses are ideal for machine vision and factory automation applications where focusing at multiple distances is required, such as quality inspection systems, rapid automation, and package sorting. The lenses will be released in 2021.
