Lamina Opens Product Showroom and Design Studio

Lamina Lighting Incorporated (Lamina), the world leader in the development and manufacturer of high-power LED light engines, today announced it has opened The Lamina Design Center, a product showroom and design studio at 336 West 37th Street in Manhattan. The Center is located in The Arts Building, also home to lighting designers, artists and other businesses in the creative field.

“New York City is considered the epicenter of the worldwide lighting design community,” said Dan Polito, Vice President of Marketing for Lamina. “Rough estimates put the number of lighting designers in the area at well over 10,000. We are hoping to further engage with this community in developing the next generation of LED lighting products – and what better place than the creative and inspiring environment provided by our new design center.”

The company plans to quickly roll out a series of networking events and hands-on workshops at The Center. Polito emphases that the workshop curriculum will focus primarily on optical, thermal and electronic issues associated with advancing solid state lighting technology and luminaire design. Future networking events will be held in The Center’s fifth floor studio and rooftop garden.
