ViewSonic(R) Corp. introduced three additions to its VA Series of LCDs at the Technology in Education Conference and Exposition (TechEd) 2008 -- the widescreen 19-inch VA1903wmb and two traditional 4:3 displays: the 19-inch VA903mb and 17-inch VA703mb. Targeted for the government office and the classroom, the displays deliver ViewSonic's affordable, award-winning technology with bright, crisp images, rich colors, fast response times and pinpoint sharpness-all for less than $250.
"The need for multimedia desktop displays in the classroom is increasing as curriculum evolves and students are utilizing video and Web sites for daily learning," said Jeff Volpe, vice president of Global Brand and Emerging Technologies, ViewSonic. The VA Series delivers exceptional front-of-screen performance for office and education applications like spreadsheet manipulation, project presentations and Internet research. All three displays are Windows Vista(R) Basic Certified, and include a thin-bezel design, built-in speakers, a VESA(R) mount for easy wall mounting setup, integrated power supply and a clean cable management system. Each display has additional features.
-- ViewSonic VA1903wmb: The 19-inch VA1903wmb has a 16:10 aspect ratio to allow users dual-page viewing and simple, quick application navigation. The display incorporates 800:1 contrast ratio (typ), 1440x900 native resolution and 5ms video response time to ensure smooth, clear multimedia presentations. -- ViewSonic VA903mb: With 1000:1 contrast ratio (typ), 300 nits of brightness (typ) and 1280x1024 native resolution, the VA903mb provides bright images and crisp text ideal for viewing federal charts or student report cards. -- ViewSonic VA703mb: At $209, the VA703mb combines 1280x1024 native resolution, 8ms response time and 700:1 contrast ratio (typ) to provide one of the more robust LCD monitors on a budget available to the market.
In an effort to provide a minimal carbon footprint, the VA703mb, VA903mb and VA1903wmb meet the most stringent worldwide standards for energy savings and green initiatives, including EnergyStar(R), RoHS, TCO'03 and EPEAT(TM) Silver certification.
