Lumileds, the global leader in light engine technology, has won the LEDs Magazine Sapphire Award in the Packaged LEDs and OLED Panels category for the LUXEON C Color Line. The award was presented at a special event associated with the Strategies in Light and The LED Show conferences in Santa Clara, California. The Sapphire Awards are designed to recognize LED and solid-state lighting (SSL) innovations that are driving technology forward and revolutionizing the lighting market.
With an innovative design that enables flawless color mixing and superior punch in architectural and entertainment lighting, the LUXEON C Color Line received an LEDs Magazine Sapphire Award.
“We are honored that the expert judging panel of the Sapphire Awards chose the LUXEON C Color Line among all the developments in LEDs and OLEDs this year. It is the first line of color and white LEDs to feature one focal length for all colors, which provides a consistent radiation pattern and is perfect for applications such as studio lighting that can combine seven colors or more,” said Rick Hamburger, Senior Director of Product Management at Lumileds. This innovative approach provides consistent color mixing while also delivering improved light extraction.
Narrow wall washers can take advantage of LUXEON C Color Line’s low dome design, which keeps the source size small, leading to more compact optics and higher punch. In emergency vehicle lighting, this superior punch is also a necessity.
LUXEON LEDs also enabled another win at the Sapphire Awards. Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Emmanuel Dieppedalle commented that he was “excited for Acuity Brands for also winning a Sapphire award for its Incito™ downlight family from Gotham® that uses Lumileds LEDs.”
