Infinera, provider of Intelligent Transport Networks™, announced today that it will host a webinar titled Light on a Chip: The Future of Photonic Integration on December 10, 2014. The webinar observes ten years of commercial photonic integrated circuit (PIC) based transport networking solutions and launches in anticipation of the United Nations' International Year of Light in 2015.
During this technology tutorial, the webinar chronicles the evolution of photonic integration, from how PICs are designed and manufactured, to how they enable reliable transport network architecture. The webinar will also look at the market opportunities for this technology as the Internet continues to grow and cloud-based infrastructure drives new network architectures with massive optical scale requirements.
Presenting executives include:
- Dr. Matt Mitchell, vice president of optical systems architecture at Infinera
- Peter Christy, senior analyst at 451 Research
- Geoff Bennett, director of solutions and technology at Infinera
The webinar is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. PT and will run until 9:00 a.m. PT.
