euNetworks Delivers New Core Infrastructure Ring for Sohonet

euNetworks Group Limited, Europe’s bandwidth infrastructure provider, today announced it has expanded its relationship with Sohonet. euNetworks has been delivering bandwidth infrastructure services to Sohonet since 2011, with this latest multi-year deal supporting the ever-growing needs of Sohonet’s media network in London.

euNetworks’ excellence in delivering fibre, wavelengths and high speed bandwidth services such as cloud access and data centre connectivity was instrumental in winning this business.

Under the terms of this new contract, euNetworks’ Fibre infrastructure is being extended to connect 50 of Sohonet’s client sites in the Soho and Chiswick Park area of London. euNetworks is also delivering a new core infrastructure ring for Sohonet, connecting all of their main points of presence (PoPs) in London. This will provide Sohonet with further scalability and operating efficiencies.

Since forming in 1995, Sohonet has developed a media network specifically designed to keep ahead of the changing requirements of the media industry.

“For our customers, the primary function of technology is to enable the creative process,” said Damien Carroll, Chief Operating Officer of Sohonet. “The growing popularity of tapeless production and global collaboration is leading to increasing demands on bandwidth, data security and expertise in workflows and techniques for the media industry. At Sohonet we focus on the technical skill and industry understanding to support this. It’s also vital that our underlying infrastructure provider has both the scale and flexibility to change as we do. euNetworks offers us these elements along with a technical team that understand what we are delivering to our clients as we expand the network. Their short delivery lead times are critical to our support of media companies today.”

“We are delighted to be working closely with Sohonet, rolling out this important fibre infrastructure through London,” said Kevin Dean, Chief Marketing Officer of euNetworks. “We understand the ever-growing demands on their network as bandwidth demand continues to rise with their client’s consumption, and look forward to a long relationship with further network development.”
