Inphi to Showcase 100G/400G Quad Linear Driver at ECOC 2013

Inphi Corporation, a leading provider of high-speed, mixed signal semiconductor solutions for the communications and computing markets, today announced the production availability of the industry’s first quad linear driver designed for linear transmitters to enable next-generation 100G/400G coherent systems to address the need for higher speed, higher performance networking infrastructure. Inphi’s IN3214SZ quad linear driver will be showcased at Inphi’s ECOC 2013 booth #263 in London, September 23-25, 2013.

End users continue to increase their demands for high-performance and bandwidth as they do more and more on their wired and wireless devices. This in turn puts pressure on network operators to build next-generation networks that deliver ever-increasing capacity. Today, 100G coherent systems have reached the practical limit of transmitting 100G per second per wavelength. Inphi's quad linear driver, the IN3214SZ, is designed to enable OEMs to implement more complex and flexible modulation formats that are capable of increasing the capacity of the long haul and metro networking infrastructure by up to a factor of four, depending on the reach. Such an efficient modulation format will allow the optical rate to remain the same but the amount of information to be transmitted to increase by a factor of four.

“Inphi’s IN3214SZ is the industry’s first integrated quad linear driver that enables such complex modulation formats to be implemented in commercial systems,” said Loi Nguyen, vice president, Networking and Communications, at Inphi. “The demand for more bandwidth continues to rise and 400G is a significant milestone for the industry. Inphi is very proud to have helped make it happen.”
