Cree Launches Advanced LED Products

LED lighting manufacturer, Cree has launched a novel 4-inch CR4 LED downlight and a 6-inch downlight with a higher lumen output. The 6-inch CR6 downlight uses 87% lesser energy when compared to incandescent lighting and offers payback within one year in a number of commercial installations.

Both these products are driven by Cree TrueWhite technology in order to deliver excellent 90+ CRI. This technology offers excellent light quality and maintains a color consistency over the product’s rated lifetime while ensuring high luminous efficiency. The downlights can be installed into most standard 4-inch and 6-inch recessed housings making this CR Series LED downlights suitable for commercial and residential, retrofit or new construction applications.

The CR4 LED downlight offers 575 lm and over 60 lm/W and can be substituted for a 90 W, 6-inch incandescent downlight. The CR series can be dimmed to 5% and designed to last 50,000 h.

The novel CR series is qualified for commercial and residential ENERGY STAR standards. This increased performance standard offers opportunities for higher rebates and incentives available from other entities and utilities.

The Vice President of product management, Gary Trott stated that the Cree CR Series downlights have been expanded to serve a broad range of lighting applications. Cree provides the advantages of LED lighting to businesses and house-owners alike, and enables a smooth transition to LED lighting with superior quality, low initial investment, significant savings and easy installation.
