Information Gatekeepers Releases Market Report on Active Optical Cables
Telecom research and consulting firm, Information Gatekeepers has released a new market research report titled ‘Active Optical Cables Market Report 2011’.
According to the report, the annual consumption of vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) and active optical cable (AOC) would reach 109 million units in 2015. AOCs are cables with optical-electrical and electrical-optical converter parts such as transceivers with receiver and transmitter at both the output and input ends. They are utilized in fiber optic communication applications.
According to the report, the annual sales of AOC would continue to increase and attain more than $1 billion in revenues by 2015. The AOC market is expected to generate $3.6 billion in revenues from 2011 to 2015. About 30 million units of AOCs are anticipated to be shipped by 2015. The VCSEL light sources working at different speeds within every AOC are the reason for this phenomenal growth of AOCs.
The research report discusses in detail about the shifting patterns and speed distribution of VCSEL from 2011 through 2015. It gives comprehensive information about the categories of AOCs based on lane speeds, cable speeds, application segments, platform categories and bus interface type.
