GAO Instruments Launches A0630008 Fault Locator for Optical Network Maintenance

GAO Instruments has introduced a new handheld visible fault locator for maintenance and installation in optical networks.

The A0630008 fault locator utilizes visible light to show the fiber fault location from a macro bend break, point, problem coupler or an unaligned mechanical splice or connector.

A0630008 Visible Fault Locator

The A0630008 is a visible red laser source designed to determine fiber faults in couplers, connectors, enclosures, patch panels, and fiber jumpers. The fault locator has automatic power and low voltage warning features to save power.

The handheld visible fault locator differentiates the faults of tie-ins, distribution frames, jumper board, and fiber jumper. In addition, the device resolves the drawbacks of an OTDR’s dead zone. The A0630008 locator precisely tests the fault location of the blind-measuring area of an OTDR. Furthermore, the fault locator features optional optical output modes, namely, 2 Hz and CW, and utilizes SC, ST, and FC adapters.
