Cost-Effective Rapid Visualization Directly From Source Data

Concurrent, a leading provider of time-critical Linux® operating systems and integrated computer solutions for mission-critical applications, and Diamond Visionics, an award winning innovator in research, analysis and design of visual technologies, today jointly announced that Lockheed Martin Systems Integration, Owego, NY has selected their integrated 3D software and IG (image generator) solution for use at the following locations - Lockheed Martin Systems Integration – Owego, Lockheed Martin’s Center for Innovation in Norfolk, VA, and the Rotary Wing Demonstration Center in Arlington, VA.

Lockheed Martin procurements included seven channels of Diamond Visionics’ GenesisRT worldwide visualization system and Concurrent Imagen™ visual servers for each channel. Lockheed Martin also purchased an additional GenesisMP mission preview system for a rotary wing flight demonstration simulator. These new channels will join the existing 22 channels, currently operational in various Systems Integration Labs (SIL) and at the Center for Innovation where Lockheed Martin operators, developers and decision makers collaborate to design and develop netcentric concepts and system-of-system prototypes, and evaluate the benefits of linked information networks.

“We are proud that Lockheed Martin System Integration – Owego, after evaluating competing systems, has chosen our GenesisRT product and Concurrent ImaGen visual servers to provide the visualization component for their many various lab simulation devices” stated David Gdovin, President of Diamond Visionics.

"Concurrent believes that visual simulation based on commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) image generators offer our customers greater choice and consequently ensures rapid adoption of new technologies, and most importantly, simplifies simulation development," said Ken Jackson, VP of Special Systems, Concurrent. "We’re pleased to team with our partner Diamond Visionics to provide high-performance visual systems for Lockheed Martin."

The combined Concurrent and Diamond Visionics 3D image generation solution is a fully integrated, real-time, scalable, open architecture solution. GenesisRT simulates the world by composing multiple sources of data at runtime, including elevation, classification, vectors and imagery to produce a continuous worldwide visual environment. GenesisRT automatically synthesizes high-detail textures from classification and vector data for areas where imagery is not provided, resulting in a seamless transition from geo-specific generated terrain.

ImaGen visual servers provide multiple channels of state-of-the-art visualization and graphics performance. High-end image generation, once achievable only on large, costly, dedicated visual systems, is now available on Concurrent ImaGen visual servers employing COTS graphics technology. ImaGen always offers the latest in industry-standard components from leading graphics suppliers, thus ensuring application developers will have access to the best possible COTS IG solutions.
