ÈD-Telematika Selects ECI Telecom to Construct Fiber-Optic Network in Czech Republic

ÈD-Telematika (CD-T) has chosen ECI telecom, a supplier of network solutions, to manufacture and execute a next generation optical network throughout Czech Republic. The new fiber-optic network will enable CD-T to substantially improve route data traffic, and enhance the bandwidth capacity. The network will also offer dependable services over an optical infrastructure across the country.

At present, CD-T operates more than 3,500 km of optical fiber lines all over Czech Republic. It offers services to customers such as the Czech Railways and many telecom operators. The fiber-optic network will have the potential to deliver high-quality IP services, enabling CD-T to address the increasing bandwidth requirements, and enhancing the scalability and reliability of the service. CD-T’s optical network was completed in five weeks by ECI Telecom.

CD-T will use the XDM Optical Networking Platform of ECI to expand the optical backbone to support higher capacity and bandwidth. The platform features 40 x 40 Gb/s tunable channels, and multi-degree WSS ROADMs to enable swifter response to the bandwidth requirements of the customers. It also provides complete OTN layer support that results in end-to-end reliability, extended reach, and service transparency.
