Optical manufacturing expert, Precision Glass & Optics (PG&O), has rolled out new commercial optics, thin film coatings and customized and standard precision optics for defense and military applications.
Precision Optics
PG&O’s thin film coating, optics, and glass services implement MIL-PRF-13830B, meet the optical manufacturing standards of MIL-I-45208A, and are suitable for various defense and military applications. Precision optics can also be used in laser manufacturing, digital cinema, scanning, imaging, solar and biomedical applications.
PG&O also manufactures plano optical components such as retro-reflectors, optical mirrors, light pipes, beamsplitters, windows and prisms. The company’s fabrication services comprise scribing, slicing, diamond bandsawing, double-sided polishing and grinding, CNC machining, annealing, laser engraving, and abrasive waterjet technology, among others.
PG&O’s optical thin film coating capabilities feature a chamber that allows coating of up to 4, 24”Ø substrates, while the polishing capabilities offer tolerances to ±.0005”, parallelism to 1 arc second, and flatnesses to /20. In addition, the company also provides chemical and thermal tampering services to meet the strengthening requirements.
