LDK Solar Signs Contract with ABB to Supply Solar Modules

LDK Solar, manufacturer of multicrystalline wafers and photovoltaic products, has signed a supply contract with ABB. According to the agreement, solar modules manufactured by LDK Solar will be supplied to the Power Systems Division of ABB, an Italy-based company.

LDK Solar will supply a total of 13MW of solar modules during the third quarter of 2010. The company is also in talks to provide larger quantities of solar modules to ABB in the rest of 2010 and 2011.

The Chief Executive Officer of LDK Solar, Xiaofeng Peng, said that the contract would look enable them to utilize the opportunities developed by ABB in Europe. He added that the agreement shows the company’s efforts in growing the solar module business, especially in Europe.
