Optical Polymer Research, Inc.
Optical Polymer Research, Inc., located in Gainesville, Florida is an international research-oriented company devoted to the development of optically useful polymers and ultra high purity contact lens materials. We are ISO 9001-2000 certified.
The O-Perm™ and O-Perm F™ classic silicone acrylate contact lens materials have had successful acceptance world wide for over 10 years. The Aqua-Perm™ line of hydrophilic, soft lens materials have the added advantage of an optional blue locator tint. This feature was successfully developed by Optical Polymer Research as a benefit to soft-contact lens patients.
Opti-Clad™ optical coatings are specific-index materials developed and patented by Dr. Paul D. Schuman to fill the need for a high quality fiber optic coating. While currently used in fiber coating applications, this product line now includes variable, high molecular weight thermoplastics.
Current research projects include: Development of Nano-composite Materials, Ultra-high Molecular Weight Thermoplastics, Rigid, low index advanced polymeric materials, and the development of novel calibration methods for optical devices.
