The Hamamatsu L12004-2310H-C quantum cascade laser (QCL) is a semiconductor device with an emission wavelength in the mid-IR range of 4 µm to 10 µm. The emission standard is completely different from regular LDs, so the QCL provides an original solution for mid-IR applications like trace gas analysis in environmental monitoring.
