Since its inception in 1980, Metricon Corporation has pioneered the practical application of prism coupling technology to problems of thin film, bulk material, and optical waveguide characterization. Metricon introduced the world's first commercial prism coupling instrument, the PC-200, in 1980, followed by the PC-2000 in 1984. The Model 2010, the third generation in Metricon's family of prism coupling instruments, now features a Windows-based PC controller and Metricon continues to add features and options as user requirements evolve.
