KMSA Launches CL-200A Chroma Meter to Measure LED

Konica Minolta Sensing Americas (KMSA) has announced the launch of its new CL-200A Chroma Meter in the United States. The CL-200A is under the same family of the CL-200 Chroma Meter. The new Chroma Meter has several enhancements when compared to the CL-200.

The CL-200A allows the receptor head to be removed from its main body and to be reconnected using optional remote adapters. This enables taking measurements with the receptor located in a separate darkroom environment, or far away.

The data measured can be transferred to the software program from the CL-200A. The measurements can be displayed on the chromaticity chart and ranked with the help of the included software.

Most of the white LEDs incorporate a blue LED that is coated with yellow phosphor. This light is a mixture of the blue light from the blue LED and the yellow light from the yellow phosphor coating. The generated white light varies because the wavelength distribution of the blue LED varies from LED to LED. Therefore, the color and brightness need to be controlled when white LED is measured. The CL-200A helps to acquire essential indexes to control white LED in one operation.

Radiometric West Coast Regional Sales Manager of KMSA, Joseph Esteves, stated that customers require a flexible unit to measure various light sources precisely and easily. He said that the CL-200A Chroma Meter takes into account the industry’s varying landscape  to enhance the functionality of OLED and LED applications.
