Digital presses built for sustainability from ground up

Océ will showcase several products that exemplify sustainable performance. The quiet Océ VarioPrint® 6320 Ultra digital perfecting press, shown producing books in an automated book line, consumes an estimated 45 percent less energy than conventional dual-pass systems. The system is designed to minimize environmental impact at every stage of operation, from low emissions and energy savings to optimized asset recovery at the end of its lifecycle. Also shown in Océ Booth 925, the Océ ColorWave® 600 systemwide format color printer, powered by solvent-free Océ CrystalPoint® technologyunderscores the company's world-leading "green" credentials and commitment to minimizing environmental impact. Océ CrystalPoint technology emits no ozone, odor, or fine powder.

Océ Eco-Start Carbon Offset Program and Eco-calculator now live

Further extending Océ leadership in sustainable practices, Océ recently launched the Océ Eco Start carbon offset program and Eco-Calculator. Through a partnership with Trees for the Future, Océ will plant trees to offset carbon emissions generated by Océ production printing equipment during the equipment’s first year of operation at the Océ customer’s facility. The Océ Eco Start program provides a starting point for customers interested in achieving carbon-neutral production by providing a full year of carbon offsets. The centerpiece of the Océ Eco Start Program is a comprehensive Eco-calculator that predicts the carbon emissions of any Océ production printing system and calculates the number of trees that must be planted to offset the system’s emissions during its first year of operation.
