Sunny Ocean Presents 27-Inch Glasses Free 3D Display at CeBIT 2010

The technology supplier Sunny Ocean Studios makes it possible to enjoy a 3D experience from 64 different perspectives for the first time without additional visual aids. The 27-inch monitor, whose upstream optical system enables “glasses free” 3D images, will celebrate its public premiere in Hannover.

In Singapore, Sunny Ocean Studios is currently developing the world’s first 3D cinema in which the audience will no longer require any special glasses. At CeBIT the company is presenting this technology for the cinema of the future in a mobile 27-inch format. Armin Grasnick, founder and managing director: “Whether it’s for private use or for commercial application – the current discussion surrounding 3D imagery shows that the future belongs to 3D capable systems. We are presenting a solution where the image appears to float spatially in front of the screen without the help of the usual aids like 3D glasses. By using 64 individual frames for the different perspectives in each 3D image for the first time, we can achieve a significantly improved 3D quality. We are even able to achieve this effect on standard monitors.”

In addition, the technology company will present its services and products for 3D projection without visual aids (“autostereoscopic”), for example, the refitting of current displays for glasses fee 3D display and the conversion of 2D images into 3D images. Grasnick: “We already possess the technology needed to quickly and inexpensively make large displays up to a size of 100-inch 3D capable.”

This year’s CeBIT (2nd– 6th March) is highlighting the area of 3D projection as a special innovation concept. Grasnick: “As a developer of 3D capable displays we are taking advantage of the excellent opportunity provided by our public premiere at CeBIT to make new customer contacts and to establish new sales networks in Europe.”
