Detection Technology Takes Image Quality of NDT Inspection To New Heights With X-Scan H

Detection Technology, a global leader of X-ray imaging solutions, takes X-ray image quality of non-destructive inspection systems to new heights by launching X-Scan H series providing the-best-in-class performance. The superior image quality of the linear array detectors is gained by optimized photodiode and electronics designs, and careful material selections.

We have picked high absorption scintillator material and perfectly matching photodiode, and readout electronics for excellent X-ray sensitivity. Our solution provides the lowest ring artifacts in the industry by uniform and linear X-ray response, together with the wide dynamic range.

Tomi Fält, responsible for product management at Detection Technology.

“As an icing on the cake, minimized pixel-to-pixel cross-talk and our unique pixel separation design eliminates scatter effects effectively, finalizing the image quality in computed tomography (CT), and digital radiography (DR) applications.”

The digital end-to-end solution is built on a proven concept enabling easy integration, and accelerated development time of X-ray systems. X-Scan H series has high radiation hardness extending lifetime of detectors significantly, and reducing total costs. X-Scan H series is available in several standard lengths easily scalable to various configurations from compact CT cabinets to large scale non-destructive (NDT) inspection setups.

The X-Scan H series is optimized for high-energy X-ray systems utilizing X-ray source on peak energy range from 225 up to 800 kilovolts (kVp) to image heavy or extremely dense objects and materials in detail. The series comes in 0.2 and 0.4 millimeter pixel pitches, and dynamic range exceeding 16,000:1.

The plug-and-play type X-Scan H series is introduced to the global market with Gigabit Ethernet interface, and enhanced diagnostic functions. Detection Technology’s X-View2 software development kit is available to ease installation and integration.

The detector works great right out of the box. Software development was easy, with the development kit provided, and the Gigabit Ethernet interface is much more convenient than the frame grabber model.

Nick Brinkhoff, Product Manager at North Star Imaging.

X-Scan H series is targeted for X-ray system manufacturers, and integrators offering industrial CT, NDT and DR imaging solutions to industries like aerospace, automotive, defence, mining, oil and gas, and semiconductor.
