Cree Announces Next Generation of Cree BR30 LED Flood Light

Cree, Inc. announces the next generation of the Cree® BR30 LED flood light, the first LED BR30 replacement to deliver a no-compromise, high performance LED lighting experience at the lower price of just $9.97.

The bulb’s advanced design uses only a quarter of the LED components previously required to look and light just like the traditional incandescents it replaces while using 86 percent less energy and lasting 25 times longer. Conceived to make high performance LED lighting affordable, Cree BR30 LED flood lights are ENERGY STAR® compliant and available at The Home Depot®.

“Not all LED bulbs are created equal,” said Betty Noonan, Cree chief marketing officer. “Cree is committed to delivering the lighting experiences consumers deserve and expect; with the Cree BR30 LED flood light consumers don’t need to sacrifice performance for affordability. Unlike the cheap, compromised LED bulbs other lighting manufacturers have recently introduced, Cree LED Bulbs deliver the industry’s highest performance at an affordable price.”

The new Cree BR30 LED uses elements of Cree’s groundbreaking SC5 Technology™ Platform to produce more light with fewer LEDs, resulting in a lower cost system that does not sacrifice functionality.

“Cree lowers prices by innovating at all levels of the system,” said Noonan. “Cree’s recent advancements in LED technology allowed us to cut the price by going from eight LEDs to two, all in a package that offers a better lighting experience.”

The Cree BR30 LED flood light is ideal for use in recessed lighting fixtures and provides a wide-beamed, balanced light source within a real glass bulb, just like a traditional incandescent BR30. The soft white 65W (2700 K) and daylight (5000 K) incandescent replacements feature a traditional shape and glass dome to blend seamlessly with existing BR flood lights and provides consumers with the flexibility to upgrade one or multiple bulbs. The Cree BR30 LED flood light turns on instantly and is dimmable with most standard dimmers. Both versions of the new Cree BR30 LED flood light deliver 655 lumens, consume only 9 watts are designed to last 25,000 hours. As part of Cree’s commitment to providing consumers with superior light quality, the Cree BR30 LED flood light is ENERGY STAR® compliant with a 5-year consumer limited warranty.

Consumers can purchase the Cree BR30 LED flood light online at www.homedepot.com/cree and in The Home Depot stores in June. Visit www.creebulb.com to learn more.
