International Conference on Application of Lasers for Particle Accelerators

The LA3NET project is coordinated by the University of Liverpool based at the Cockcroft Institute and is a European training network based around the application of lasers for particle accelerators.

Despite the considerable effort that has now been realized through the LA3NET project there is still a strong need for further training in Europe at the interface of lasers and particle accelerators. Even though many large-scale research infrastructures heavily depend on particle accelerators, there are simply not enough coordinated training programs. This conference shows how such as shortfall can be addressed through training networks since this conference is open to external participants thereby bringing experienced experts together with up-and-coming researchers across both the laser and accelerator communities.

Lasers are used in a variety of applications for accelerators from ion generation and acceleration through to diagnostic techniques essential for performance optimization. This conference will bring together laser and accelerator researchers to share their results from these combined fields. Renowned speakers have been invited to lead sessions with contributed talks from delegates to be chosen in advance from the abstracts submitted. Delegates are invited to submit abstracts for 15 minute contribution talks to be selected by the Programme Committee.

This 3-day international conference will contain sessions in the following areas:

  • Particle beam generation
  • Laser-based ion generation
  • Electron acceleration
  • Applications at the interface between lasers and accelerators
  • Diagnostics

The cost of the conference is €650 to cover accommodation and all meals.

Theregistration deadline is 20th  February 2015.

There are only a few remaining places available and there is still time to submit abstracts. All approved proceedings will be published in Physics Procedia and a number of selected papers will be published in Nuclear Instruments and Methods A. Fees include accommodation and full board at the Son Caliu Hotel and Resort.
