Groundbreaking Levels of Performance and Scalability

Visage Imaging, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mercury Computer Systems, Inc., will reveal the latest innovations to its Visage Thin Client solutions portfolio, and demonstrate groundbreaking levels of performance and scalability for integrated 2D, 3D, and 4D advanced visualization, at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) in Vienna, Austria, March 7 - 10.

Visage Imaging operates as an independent entity to deliver Mercury’s distinct expertise in advanced visualization, and its comprehensive portfolio of imaging and visualization products and services, to international OEM and clinical partners worldwide. Its best-in-class, thin-client technology provides superior workflow for interpreting, post-processing, and distributing 3D images throughout the entire hospital enterprise, and will feature optimized tools for radiology, cardiology, and other subspecialties. The optimized workflow enables healthcare organizations to significantly accelerate report turnaround time, which reduces costs and improves quality of care.

Healthcare enterprises and imaging centers will be able to obtain the groundbreaking Thinnovation solutions through multiple channels and directly from Visage Imaging. The company has signed agreements with three major clinical sites in Wales (Great Britain) and Portugal to provide Visage CS Thin Client Server systems that can be truly integrated within existing IT infrastructures.

With Visage’s fully integrated thin-client solutions, the image data as well as the applications within the Visage platform are not bound to specific workstations, and become instantly accessible within the PACS workflow. “There is a growing need for flexible PACS integration capabilities to optimize the workflow between radiology and other clinical departments,” said Dr. Dr. Reinhard Loose, M.D., Ph.D., and department head of the institute for diagnostic and interventional radiology at Hospital Nuremberg-North. “Thin-client solutions provide a completely integrated clinical workflow and improved communication through easy and instant data sharing, resulting in better patient care.”

Furthermore, the new version of Visage CS Cardiac Analysis will feature a rich set of new tools and optimizations such as calcium scoring, improved reporting, and efficient manual editing of the left ventricle geometry. Visage CS Cardiac Analysis allows viewing and post-processing of even the largest multi-phase cardiac CT studies, taking advantage of Visage’s unmatched server-based thin-client performance.

“Our company offers the only true enterprise-grade image management and advanced visualization solution that combines the key aspects of a traditional PACS with those of thin-client-based advanced visualization,” said Marcelo Lima, President at Visage Imaging. “We look forward to showing our partners, customers and healthcare professionals the latest advances in thin-client solutions, advanced visualization tools, and integrated clinical applications.”
