Huawei Technologies Presents Excellent Supplier Award to NeoPhotonics

NeoPhotonics Corporation, a leading designer and manufacturer of photonic integrated circuit, or PIC, based modules and subsystems for bandwidth-intensive, high speed communications networks, today announced that for the second consecutive year the company has received the prestigious “Excellent Supplier Award” as a Core Partner from Huawei Technologies, one of the world's leading providers of telecommunications network solutions.

Huawei held its annual Core Partners Convention near its corporate headquarters in Shenzhen, China, to recognize companies that have delivered high performance and high quality products meeting Huawei’s specialized requirements. In the optical networking sector of more than 30 major suppliers, NeoPhotonics was one of only five companies in the sector to receive an award for supplier excellence. NeoPhotonics is a supplier to Huawei of Access products designed for its Broadband FTTx systems and of advanced WDM Transport products, such as integrated coherent receivers and narrow linewidth tunable lasers designed for its 40G and 100G Coherent transport systems.

“Consistency and continuous improvement are hallmarks of our quality program at NeoPhotonics, and we are grateful to receive this honor from Huawei,” said Tim Jenks, Chairman, President and CEO of NeoPhotonics. “We have collaborated on high speed and access products for several years, and we have expanded our technology, quality and manufacturing capabilities to support Huawei’s growth during this period.”

Huawei has become one of the largest mobile network equipment providers in the world, serving more than 310 carrier customers worldwide. Huawei was one of the earliest customers of NeoPhotonics, which has supported Huawei for the last decade.
