The Optical Society (OSA) has launched a new annual meeting on advanced solid state lasers. The event, titled, Advanced Solid State Lasers Congress (ASSL) is to be held from 27 October to 1 November 2013 in Paris.
It is a comprehensive conference and exhibition that combines topical meetings on fiber lasers and applications, advances in optical materials, and advanced solid state photonics.
The latest developments in the fields of nonlinear optical devices, and solid state materials-based lasers, and related applications and technologies will be discussed at the ASSL Congress, which will serve as a platform for industry leaders and experts.
Laser industry leaders belonging to various sectors such as the government, the academia, distributors and manufacturers will gather at the ASSL Congress. They will study the developments, and innovations as well as problems in this field. They will be discussing the methods and ways to reduce the negative factors of these technologies and also ways to increase the capabilities of current technologies in usage. Further, the potential ways to increase the market penetration of solid state laser technologies will be discussed.
The CEO of OSA, Elizabeth Rogan, stated that the new ASSL Congress enables manufacturers as well as researchers to discuss and demonstrate their technologies as well as the marketing potential. The global conference is a one of a kind event that is offered by the OSA, Rogan said.
